Are you a novice crocheter who'd like to learn to whip up a cute as heck hat? Join us in this class to crochet a cozy hat with a turned up brim and learn some new skills along the way. This would be a perfect first crochet project or a nice relaxing project if you have a bit of crochet experience. This class is perfect if you've taken Sharilyn's Learn to Crochet class or know the basics of crochet and want to start a new project with a little guidance. Over the course of 3 - 1 hour sessions you'll have an opportunity to practice reading those (sometimes cryptic) crochet directions and refine your skills.
Session 1: Wed. November 30, 3:00-4:00 pm
Session 2: Wed. December 7, 3:00-4:00 pm
Session 3: Wed. December 14, 3:00-4:00 pm
Pattern: Cozy Crochet Ribbed Hat. A copy will be provided in class.
- US size H crochet hook
- 200 yds of worsted weight yarn for an adult hat. We suggest a 150 g. skein of Woolstok Worsted.
- yarn needle & scissors
Skills needed: You should be familiar with chain stitch and single crochet. This is a very beginner friendly class.
Skills learned: Half Double crochet, slip stitch, practice keeping edges even, crochet through the back loop
About the teacher: When Sharilyn was a child, her grandmother taught her how to knit and her mother taught her how to crochet and she hasn't stopped since. Sharilyn Ross has taught knitting and crochet classes for 10 years in the Rochester area and is looking forward to sharing her enthusiasm for the fiber arts with you!
