Description: The Curve Bag is a soft felted handbag with sensuous lines.  It is knit in-the-round from the base up.  An I-cord bind off in a contrasting color trims the top of the bag and forms the continuous arched handles.  The pattern includes comprehensive instructions for knitting, felting, and shaping the bag.  A sewn-on snap closure in a final elegant touch.

Finished Size (after felting): 12 inches wide by 9 inches high by 5 inches deep

Materials needed:

• The Curve Bag by Cindy Pilon (pattern cost is included in class fee. A hardcopy of the pattern will be provided at the first class.  Please provide your Ravelry name when signing up and a digital copy of the pattern will be added to your Ravelry library.)
• Suggested Yarn: Bulky weight, non-super wash wool yarn MC: approx. 400 yards, CC: approx. 25 yards.(can hold multiple strands of non-super wash yarns together to achieve a bulky weight)
  • Blue Sky Fibers Woolstock, Jill Draper Makes Stuff, Plymouth Galway, Orchardview Lincoln Longwools McIntosh Aran
• Suggested Needle: US size 10 (6.0 mm) 24-inch circular
• Notions: small amount of fiberfill, scissors, tapestry needle, stitch markers, sew-on purse snap

Skills Needed:

• Casting on, knitting purling, bind ing off

Skills Learned:

• Felting in a washing machine

About the teacher:  

Nancy Vandivert happily admits to being nerd.  She's been sewing, knitting, crocheting, spinning, and doing needlework since she was a wee one mercilessly bugging her mother.  She designs as Nancy Vandivert on Ravelry and has had patterns published by Knit Picks, Interweave Knits, I like Knitting, Twist Collective, and CAST ON.  She's been teaching knitting in the Rochester regional area for over 20 years.  Oh, and don't get her started on knitting faster.....
