Crochet a Temperature Blanket with Sharilyn Ross | Tues. Jan. 12 & 19 | 2-3 pm

Description
New Year, new blanket! There's no better way to ring in the new year than planning out a fun year-long crochet project! What is a temperature blanket, I hear you ask? It's a year-long project where you crochet a row or motif for each day band on that day's temperature.
In these 2 classes, we'll choose a pattern, plan colors and start crocheting this year's blanket. There will be 2 patterns to choose from, both using the Linen Stitch. One pattern iw worked in rows for each day and the other is worked in a square for each month. I'll come with a color chart you can fill out and a list of daily temperatures for Rochester up to our class date.

You can certainly choose to use temperatures from another city or even a different year.
This class is suitable for an Advanced Beginner and ages 12+.
Materials needed:
- Size I (5.5 mm) crochet hook
- Since this is a blanket and gauge doesn't hneed to be exact, feel free to use a US H or US J if you want a more or less dense fabric.
- 1 Skein worsted weight yarn. We suggest Plymouth Encore Worsted, Plymouth Worsted Merino Superwash or Plymouth Galway
- Patterns: Temperature Blanket Year Long by Fox and Pine OR Linen Square Temperature Blanket by Toni Lipsey
Skills Needed
Be familiar with Single Crochet.
About the teacher: When Sharilyn was a child, her grandmother taught her how to knit and her mother taught her how to crochet and she hasn't stopped since. Sharilyn Ross has taught knitting and crochet classes for 10 years in the Rochester area and is looking forward to sharing her enthusiasm for the fiber arts with you!
