Description: Come and join the worldwide community of knitters! This class is for anyone who would like to learn how to knit or re-learn if it has been a while. We will learn how to knit, purl, cast-on and cast-off. This class is taught at a relaxed pace so please come join us and enjoy learning a new skill. You will come away with a coaster or two to show what you've learned!
Materials needed:
- Notes will be provided at the first class
- US 8 (5.0mm) (Straight, circular bamboo, or circular metal).
- Worsted/Medium weight yarn such as Encore Worsted or Galway Worsted
(The yarn will just be used for practice, so pick a color you enjoy!)
Skills Needed:
- None! This is a start-from-the-very-beginning kind of class.
Skills Learned:
- Knit and purl stitch. Cast on and Cast off.
About the teacher:
When Sharilyn was a child, her grandmother taught her how to knit and her mother taught her how to crochet and she hasn't stopped since. Along the way she's also happily fallen down other crafty rabbit holes like spinning, felting, and weaving.
Sharilyn has taught knitting and crochet classes for over 10 years in the Rochester area and is looking forward to sharing her enthusiasm for the fiber arts with you!
