Description: A vest is a simple and gratifying addition to any wardrobe. This versatile piece features a v-shaped neckline, minimal ease and hits just below the waist (this can be adjusted to be longer or shorter). Knitted in the round from the bottom hem to the armholes, the front and back are then worked separately with shoulder seams joined using the three-needle bind off method.
This is an easy / intermediate skill project suitable for fiber type. the pattern includes instructions for four different yarn weights: fingering, DK, worsted, and bulky.
Finished Chest Sizes: 32.5 (36, 40.5, 44, 48.5, 52.5, 56.5) inches
Materials needed:
- Basic Vest by Cleome Smith (pattern cost included in class fee, a hardcopy of the pattern will be provided at the first class. Please provide your Ravelry name when signing up and a digital copy will be added to your Ravelry library)
- Suggested Yarns: Rowan Felted Tweed, Spun Right Round DK, Jill Draper Makes Stuff, Plymouth Galway, Plymouth Encore, Blue Sky Fibers Woolstock
- Needles:
- DK US size 5 (3.75 mm). Gauge: 22 sts. and 29 rows to 4 inches in St st
- Worsted US size 7 (4.5 mm). Gauge: 19 sts. 26 rows to 4 inches in St st
- Notions: stitch markers, tapestry needle, scrap yarn or extra needle to hold stitches
